Kirkcudbright Paintings

The Town of Kirkcudbright in South West Scotland has been an inspiration to artists for many years. The unique quality of the light, easy access to the centres of population and the gentle rolling coastal landscapes have all helped establish it as a favourite haunt for artists. In its heyday it was known as the 'St. Ives of Scotland' due to its artistic colony.

We currently have a wide range of Kirkcudbright paintings by some of the leading members of the Kirkcudbright School of Artists along with other Kirkcudbright related works. Please feel free to browse our stock.

Scottish Painting

The Kirkcudbright Gallery offers a range of works from the Scottish School of Painting, including work by some of its main artists. The international reputation now attached to Scottish Painting is growing and although it has always displayed its own distinctive style, its individual developments can be seen within the wider context of European Art.

We have a wide range of oils, watercolours, drawings and prints by prominent Scottish artists from the 19th and 20th centuries.

John Leitch GSA

We also feature paintings by John Leitch (BA Hons 1st class) Glasgow School of Art, along with other contemporary Scottish Artists.
